Domino’s Pizza is set to launch an innovative promotion dubbed “You Tip, We Tip,” wherein the restaurant will reciprocate tips provided by customers to their delivery drivers.
Commencing on April 29, the “You Tip, We Tip” initiative offers customers an enticing incentive. Upon tipping their delivery driver $3 through the online platform, they will receive a corresponding $3 coupon to be redeemed on their online delivery order the following week.
“Domino’s drivers have been dedicated to delivering piping hot, mouthwatering pizzas since 1960, and we deeply appreciate customers who recognize their outstanding service through tipping,” remarked Kate Trumbull, Domino’s senior vice president and chief brand officer, in a press release. “However, in today’s landscape, the ubiquity of tip screens can sometimes exert undue pressure on customers, even in instances where no additional service is rendered. Therefore, we’ve chosen to redefine the norm and express our gratitude by tipping customers in return.”
This isn’t Domino’s first foray into inventive customer appreciation initiatives. In 2022, the pizza chain extended a similar gesture by providing customers who opted to collect their own carryout orders with a $3 tip, a move prompted by staffing challenges faced by the company at the time.
