After nearly two decades of operation, a Chinese-Japanese fusion restaurant will bid farewell to its patrons. Feng Shui, located at 380 Chief Justice Cushing Highway, is set to close its doors, making way for Stoked Pizza, a local pizzeria offering a diverse menu including salads, cocktails, and 12-inch pies with gluten-free and vegan options.
The transition, approved by the town’s select board on May 6, is anticipated to bring Stoked Pizza to the Cohasset community by fall, according to partner and investor Doug McGregor. McGregor, who also invested in Salty Days at the Red Lion Tavern, Locales Tacos y Tequila in Hingham, and Seabird Coffee & Co., expressed his confidence in the new venture during the select board meeting.
“As a resident here – I’m a newcomer, only eight years or so here in town – I really am confident that this is going to be a big hit, or I wouldn’t be doing it,” McGregor assured the board.
Drawing parallels to the ambiance of Salty Days, McGregor outlined Stoked Pizza as a family-friendly establishment offering a casual dining experience suitable for watching sports or enjoying a date night.
Originating as a food truck, Stoked Pizza expanded to brick-and-mortar locations in Brookline and Cambridge. The restaurant prides itself on sourcing produce from local farms like Lilliput Farms in Wareham and prioritizes daily ingredient deliveries to minimize the use of freezers and preservatives.
While the menu at the Cohasset location will maintain familiarity with existing offerings, McGregor hinted at the introduction of new items. Stoked Pizza plans to operate seven days a week, primarily serving lunch and dinner.
Feng Shui is slated to conclude operations a week following the state’s approval of Stoked Pizza’s liquor license transfer. Established in Cohasset in 2005, Feng Shui has since expanded to six other locations, including Braintree and Waltham.
