The closure of Franks Wine Bar marks a new chapter for the location, set to reopen after a summer hiatus as an expanded F&F Pizzeria. The establishment promises a “short and sweet” food menu that extends beyond their renowned pizzas, complemented by an updated wine list that features selections from the former bar alongside new additions.
Castronovo mentioned the decision was driven by the popularity of their extensive wine cellar and the community’s desire for a full restaurant experience. “Everything that’s delicious,” he notes, suggesting the wine list will cater to contemporary tastes with classics and natural wines alike.
While an exact reopening date hasn’t been disclosed, the transformation aligns with the 20th anniversary of Frankies 457 Spuntino, located nearby on Court Street. The expansion also reflects the Franks’ ambitions to introduce more F&F Pizzeria locations across New York City and beyond.
