Several pizza restaurants in the Charlotte area are joining forces to support the families of fallen law enforcement officers through an initiative called “Carolina Pizza Strong.”
On Wednesday and Thursday, June 19 and 20, participating restaurants will donate $5 from every pizza sold to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Foundation. This nonprofit organization will direct the funds to support first responders affected by the deadly shootout in east Charlotte on April 29.
Participating restaurants include:
Mario’s Italian Restaurant at 2945 Matthews Weddington Road, Matthews
Bisonte Pizza Co. (Uptown, Matthews, and Ballantyne locations)
John’s Place at 2945 Matthews Weddington Road, Matthews
Mia Famiglia Pizzeria at 7870 Idlewild Road, Indian Trail
The Rusty Onion Pizzeria at 6654 Carmel Road, Charlotte
Rossini’s Italian Restaurant at 13803 E. Independence Blvd., Indian Trail
“This is something that touches everybody,” said Barry Steiger, marketing manager for Mario’s Italian Restaurant. “Law enforcement agencies are an important part of our community, and this is your chance to give back.”
For those looking to support a worthy cause while enjoying a meal, “Carolina Pizza Strong” offers a delicious way to contribute to the well-being of the community’s first responders and their families.
