AKRON, Ohio — Akron police are investigating two robberies targeting pizza delivery drivers that occurred on the same day and may be related.
The first incident took place around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday when a delivery driver arrived at an abandoned house on Smithfarm Avenue. As the driver approached the property, a suspect brandished a gun.
Police described the suspects in the first robbery as follows:
A Black male, approximately 18 years old, taller, wearing a mask, black winter coat, and black pants
A White male, 14 to 16 years old, wearing a white t-shirt
Later that night, at 11:15 p.m., a second robbery occurred on Para Avenue. The delivery driver arrived at a residence, but the occupant denied placing an order. As the driver returned to their vehicle, an armed suspect appeared and demanded the driver’s belongings and the pizza.
The suspect in the second robbery is described as a Black male, approximately 18 to 20 years old.
Detectives have noted the similarities in the descriptions of the suspects in both incidents, prompting an investigation into a possible connection between the two crimes.
