Riko’s Pizza, a popular takeout spot at 247 Connecticut Ave. in Norwalk since 2018, is set to transform its operations with a new location. According to a company news release, the new Riko’s Pizza will be situated at 85 New Canaan Ave., near the Norwalk-New Canaan border, and will feature table service and a full bar.
“Relocating to the Broad River neighborhood allows us to better serve our Norwalk and New Canaan customers, both of whom are equally important,” said Riko’s cofounder and CEO, Rico Imbrogno, in the release.
In addition to the Norwalk move, Riko’s Pizza will soon expand to Westport with a new franchisee group, as reported last month by The Hour. Unlike the Westport location, the New Canaan Avenue branch will be owned and operated by the corporation.
Meanwhile, the construction of the new Norwalk location is underway, with plans to open by late 2024 or early 2025. The existing Connecticut Avenue Riko’s will continue to operate until the new site is ready, after which it will close.
Riko’s Pizza, renowned for its hot-oil pizza, first opened in Stamford in 2011. The Westport location will be the chain’s sixth in Connecticut. Riko’s has also established a presence in Florida, Massachusetts, and New York, with future openings planned in North Carolina and Vermont.
Earlier this year, Riko’s announced plans to franchise along the East Coast. In May, the company successfully contested an eviction attempt in Stamford.
