In celebration of Pizza Day, São Paulo is set to witness an extraordinary culinary feat—a 20-meter-long pizza. This event, featuring nearly 700 kilograms of ingredients, is part of the 12th ExpoPizzaria, the largest national trade fair dedicated to pizzas.
Date: July 10-11, 2024
Location: Anhembi District, Avenida Olavo Fontoura, 1209
Pizza Day, celebrated on July 10, was established in 1985 following a cultural competition by the São Paulo Tourism Office to identify the best pizza in the state.
The highlight of this year’s ExpoPizzaria is the unprecedented creation of a 20-meter-long pizza. The giant pizza will contain:
Mozzarella Cheese: 80 kg
Wheat Flour: 500 kg
Tomato Sauce: 50 liters
Tomatoes: 50 kg
The pizza will be divided into two flavors: chocolate, popular in Brazil, and margherita, celebrating the 150th anniversary of Italian immigration.
ExpoPizzaria, an annual gathering of pizza professionals and enthusiasts, will include:
Exhibitions: Showcasing the latest trends and innovations in the pizza industry.
Talks and Workshops: Offering insights and knowledge from experts in the field.
While the event itself is closed to the general public, it remains open to professionals and entrepreneurs in the pizzeria sector. Those interested can register here.
The creation of the 20-meter-long pizza at ExpoPizzaria underscores the passion and creativity within São Paulo’s pizza community. This event not only celebrates Pizza Day but also honors the rich cultural heritage and ongoing innovation in the world of pizza. Whether you’re a pizza professional or an enthusiast, ExpoPizzaria offers a unique opportunity to witness and engage with the heart of the pizza industry.
