Zia Lucia, the acclaimed independent pizzeria brand, is set to elevate Chelsea’s culinary landscape with the debut of its latest restaurant. Scheduled to open on July 25, 2024, the establishment will introduce a pioneering Aperol-infused pizza dough, a first of its kind in the UK.
This unique dough blend incorporates hints of orange, rhubarb, and gentian, offering a nuanced flavor profile that balances slight sweetness with subtle bitterness, delivering a refreshingly aromatic experience reminiscent of Italy’s Aperitivo Hour. Available for a limited time, this innovative dough will serve as the perfect canvas for a selection of toppings, including mozzarella, fior di latte, wild broccoli, and spicy nduja.
Situated on Fulham Road, Zia Lucia Chelsea will accommodate up to 46 guests, featuring inviting alfresco seating bathed in sunlight. Diners can indulge in a 48-hour slow-fermented pizza paired with a choice of refreshing cocktails.
The restaurant’s menu showcases an award-winning array of dough options, including traditional white flour, wholemeal, vegetable charcoal, and gluten-free varieties. Toppings range from fiery nduja and spicy spianata salami to truffle sauce, honey, burrata, gorgonzola, and roasted pepperoni, ensuring a tantalizing culinary experience.
Gianluca D’Angelo, co-founder of Zia Lucia alongside Claudio Vescovo, expressed excitement about the Chelsea opening, stating, “Opening next to the football stadium in Chelsea has been a long-awaited plan for us. Since its inception on Holloway Road in 2016, Zia Lucia has garnered acclaim for blending Italian authenticity with innovative flair in London’s competitive pizza market. Following the success of its inaugural outpost, Zia Lucia expanded to Canary Wharf, West Hampstead, Wandsworth, and Aldgate East.
