Russian pizza chain Dodo is expanding into Vietnam, having recently opened five new stores, including one in District 7 of Ho Chi Minh City. This expansion follows the company’s withdrawal from several global markets after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Aleksandra Mironova, Egor Muraave, and Artem Knyazev visited Vietnam to assess the quality of their operations. They had previously launched their first pizzeria in the country remotely in 2020.
Mironova praised Vietnam as a vibrant and evolving market, noting, “Ho Chi Minh City is constantly changing and growing, with new trends emerging.”
Dodo Pizza plans to open 150 stores in Vietnam over the next three years. The initial phase includes 30 stores in Ho Chi Minh City and 20 in Hanoi.
Nguyen Hoa Ngoc, CEO of Dodo Pizza Vietnam, highlighted the company’s focus on both expansion and quality, saying, “We are committed to growing our chain while maintaining high standards.”
Despite its growth in Vietnam, Dodo Pizza has closed several locations, including in Oxford, Mississippi, Des Moines, Iowa, the UK, and Kazakhstan, and has ceased operations in Nigeria.
