Ouro Pizzaria, a Brazilian-inspired pizza shop located in the Eat Street Crossing food hall in Minneapolis, has announced it will be closing its doors on Friday, or once it runs out of food.
The pizza counter, operated by the team behind Bebe Zito, was one of the original tenants when the food hall opened earlier this year. Ouro Pizzaria quickly became known for its unique pizza combinations, drawing inspiration from co-owner Gabriella Grant-Spangler’s Brazilian heritage.
In a statement shared on Instagram, the owners expressed their gratitude to customers: “We want to thank everyone that’s been a part of the Ouro story. This isn’t goodbye forever, just goodbye for now. We are still dreaming about Brazilian food in Minneapolis, so this isn’t the end.”
Ouro Pizzaria is run by Grant-Spangler and Ben Spangler, who also own and operate several other locations under the Bebe Zito brand. These include Bebe Zito Ice Cream and Bebe Zito Burgers+ at Eat Street Crossing, as well as locations in Uptown, Malcolm Yards, and Woodbury.
In their closing message, the owners acknowledged the difficulty of the decision, stating, “It’s a hard day today, but there will be brighter moments ahead.”
