Moto Pizza, a popular pizza shop known for its unique offerings, has announced that it now offers delivery service. This new option is available immediately, just in time for the lunchtime rush.
Lee Kindell started Moto Pizza in early 2021 from a cottage in West Seattle, serving Filipino-inspired Detroit-style pizza. Initially, customers had to place orders months in advance. However, as Moto expanded to three locations and added an outlet at T-Mobile Park, the wait times decreased. Now, customers can enjoy Moto’s signature pizzas from the comfort of their homes.
Moto Pizza has gained a dedicated following with inventive dishes like lechon kawali (Filipino fried pork belly) on the Mr. Pig pizza and crab roll topping for the Crab! pizza. The introduction of delivery service is expected to further boost its popularity.
After over three years in operation, Kindell feels that the business is ready to handle the additional volume of delivery orders. Initially, deliveries will be managed through a third-party service called Olo. However, Kindell plans to introduce a fleet of branded mini-Fiats and electric bikes for future deliveries. “We want to bring some old-school service back,” Kindell said. The new delivery system will include drivers equipped with pouches of sauces and other extras.
Kindell is enthusiastic about this new way to connect with customers and plans to personally deliver pizzas from time to time. He notes that the lines have decreased enough to allow for same-day and walk-in orders.
Looking ahead, Moto Pizza is set to open a new location at Bellevue Square next month. Next year, the company plans to introduce a drive-through and will test Zipline’s drone delivery service.
