HOUSTON, TX – Karbach Brewing Company has launched its new restaurant, Pizza & Pints, next to its brewery in Spring Branch. The counter-service restaurant, which began quietly operating in July, will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, August 29.

Pizza & Pints features a mix of retro decor and modern service. Customers place their orders at digital kiosks and receive a text when their food is ready. Pizza dough, partially fermented and topped with ingredients, is baked in a gas-assisted wood-fired oven that burns Post Oak logs at 1,100 degrees, according to Christopher Meyer, Karbach’s general manager and vice president of regional craft.

The menu includes what Meyer describes as a new-age Neapolitan pizza with springy, foldable dough. Popular options include the pepperoni pizza with Mike’s hot honey and the Big Tex pizza. The Big Tex features a barbecue sauce made with Karbach’s Love Street Kolsch-style lager, topped with mozzarella, parmesan, sharp cheddar, brisket, pickled red onions, and cilantro. Another favorite is the al pastor pizza, which includes pineapple and a combination of salsa verde, cheese, pork, cotija cheese, diced red onions, and cilantro.

In addition to pizza, the menu offers a Caesar salad with sundried tomatoes, an antipasto salad with artichokes, cheeses, salami, banana peppers, and olives, and crispy mozzarella sticks with gooey cheese pulls. For dessert, diners can enjoy a Nutella pastry pizza and the restaurant’s standout chocolate cake. Head chef Edward Hoyos prepares only one cake daily, selling just eight slices to ensure freshness. “When the cake is gone, it’s gone,” Hoyos says.

Hoyos, who has a background in baking, previously owned a bakery and worked as a kitchen manager at Chi’Lantro BBQ in Austin. His experience with fresh tortillas, pastries, and desserts complements his new role at Pizza & Pints.

The restaurant offers a range of beers, including Karbach’s classics like Love Street and Hopadillo, and an exclusive Pizza & Pints pilsner. The pilsner combines malt and hops for a hint of fruitiness. Karbach’s experimental F.U.N. beer series, featuring beers like mango sour, is also available, allowing customers to provide feedback on new brews.

Pizza & Pints is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
