AUSTIN, TX — Good Vibrations Pizza Co., a popular pizza truck from Central East Austin, is moving to South Austin this summer. The new location will be at Vacancy Brewing, located at 415 East St. Elmo Road, Building 1, Suite D2. The pizza truck is set to start service there on Saturday, August 31.

Co-owners Austin and Megan Smith specialize in wood-fired pizzas. Their menu features pies like the Sweet Heat, topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, hot Italian sausage, pickled jalapenos, and hot honey. The Figgy Piggy includes extra virgin olive oil, mozzarella, gorgonzola, fig preserves, bacon, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, while the Lovely Rita is their version of a classic margherita.

The Smiths launched their pizza pop-up under the name Sweethearts in North Carolina in 2022. After moving back to Austin in 2023, they rebranded as Good Vibrations and began operating in August 2023. They initially set up at various locations including Cavalier bar, Nomadic Beerworks brewery, Stay Put beer bar and brewery, and Vacancy Brewing itself. The truck previously operated at King Bee before closing its Central East Austin location on August 25. The Smiths have a background in various Austin restaurants and bars.

The name Good Vibrations was chosen to better reflect their company’s identity. The Smiths, who had an interest in baking, started making pizzas during the early pandemic and saw a food truck as a natural next step. “We like how simple it can be while still requiring a lot of love and passion to make a consistently good pizza,” they said through a representative.

Vacancy Brewing frequently hosts food pop-ups. Earlier this year, it was home to the Laotian food truck Sekse Fud Ko, which has since moved to a new location in far East Austin.
