Menomale, a popular pizzeria from Washington, D.C., is in discussions to open a new location in Hyattsville.
Owner Mariya Rusciano revealed to the Hyattsville Wire that she is eyeing a spot within the soon-to-open Hyattsville Canvas Apartments, located at 5300 Baltimore Ave., near the historic Armory building.
“We are currently negotiating the lease, but nothing has been finalized yet,” Rusciano said.
The site plans for the apartment and retail development include two smaller retail spaces, each a little over 2,000 square feet, and a larger corner space measuring 5,362 square feet, which is marked as “under negotiation.”
The retail brokers for the apartment complex have already secured leases with Mathnasium and an upcoming branch of Akira Ramen & Izakaya.
If the deal goes through, this would mark Menomale’s third location, joining its original Brookland spot and the second location in NoMa. Menomale is known for its authentic Neapolitan pizzas, adhering to the strict guidelines of the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, making it one of the few D.C. establishments to offer this traditional style.
