Mountain Mike’s Pizza, a leading family-style pizza chain known for its crispy, curly pepperonis and large pizzas, is expanding its presence in Texas. With more than 45 years of experience in the pizza industry, the chain has signed multi-unit agreements to open new locations in Austin, Dallas, and Houston, bringing the total number of restaurants in Texas to nearly 40. This expansion follows the brand’s successful introduction to the state in 2022, where it currently operates five restaurants between Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston.
CEO Jim Metevier highlighted the importance of Texas in the company’s national growth plan, stating that local franchisees are eager to introduce Mountain Mike’s to their communities. “Texas offers great growth potential for a beloved legacy brand like ours,” said Metevier, predicting that Texas could soon become the chain’s second-largest market.
Mountain Mike’s continues to expand not just in Texas but across the United States, with locations in states like Arizona, California, Oregon, and Utah. The new Texas agreements will bring five restaurants to Austin, a new market for the chain, while also adding three locations each in Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston. Franchisees Rajeev Dewan, Ajay and Karina Gorde, and Tim Fogarty will oversee the respective expansions in these areas.
Vice President of Franchise Development, Robert Campos, emphasized the chain’s plans to go big in Texas. “We’re especially excited about launching in Austin and continuing our growth in Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth, where we’ve already seen a strong demand for our pizzas,” said Campos.
As the chain continues to grow, Mountain Mike’s is offering opportunities for new franchise partners to join the brand. The company has earned multiple industry awards, including a top-100 spot on Entrepreneur’s 2023 Franchise 500® List and FRANdata’s 2024 TopScore Award for its high franchise rating.
Mountain Mike’s ongoing success and franchise momentum are positioning it as a fast-growing brand, with the new Texas locations set to further solidify its popularity in the Lone Star State.
