The Manoosh pizza chain, with 18 locations, has officially rebranded as Ooshman. The new identity includes a refreshed logo, color scheme, and store design.
Founder Charlie Hoyek explained that the rebranding was prompted by the increasing use of the name Manoosh by other independent bakeries. He noted that the new name, Ooshman, emerged from an online poll where customers helped choose a name for the mascot in their logo. “Ooshman reflects our identity,” Hoyek said. “Rebranding brings fresh ideas and a kickstart to our business.”
A Fresh Look
Previously, Manoosh’s branding featured the colors red, green, and white, representing Lebanon. The new design focuses solely on green, symbolizing the Lebanese cedar tree. Hoyek described the new look as vibrant and positive. “We’ve maintained our core identity while updating our appearance,” he said, highlighting the new sage background and eye-catching colors.
Both existing and new stores will display the updated branding, which includes modern design elements like tiles and pendants. Early indications suggest that the rebranding is already driving sales. Hoyek is enhancing business growth through marketing campaigns and technological advancements.
Business Expansion Plans
Hoyek started Manoosh as a Lebanese pizza takeaway in Sydney’s Inner West in 2008 and began franchising the business six years later. Today, stores are spread across New South Wales and the ACT.
Traditionally focused on pick-up and delivery, Ooshman locations will now feature small dine-in areas. The menu has also expanded beyond classic Lebanese pizzas to include traditional Italian-style options and freshly-baked wraps.
“We plan to launch a new menu by the end of the year,” Hoyek stated. “We often introduce limited-time offers, but this will add popular items to our regular selection.”
“Ooshman stands out by offering a unique blend of Lebanese and Italian pizzas. Our menu provides good value and encourages repeat customers,” he added. Hoyek expressed a desire to further expand Ooshman throughout Sydney and the ACT, with plans to open additional locations in Newcastle and Wollongong before potentially moving interstate in a few years.
