Residents of Gulfport can enjoy free pizza tonight thanks to the generosity of local businesses and community members. The event will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the Village Courtyard and continue at 6 p.m. in Clymer Park.
The initiative started with Joe Culberston II of Culby Properties, who owns the Village Courtyard and the blue North End building. On October 12, he donated $1,000 each to Stella’s, North End Tap House, and Low Tide Kava Bar to provide food and drinks for those in need.
This morning, Jim and Lisha Shatz contributed $2,000 to Stella’s and $1,000 to North End Tap House for additional meals. Rob Sepulveda from Caldwell Realty and Insurance also donated $500 to support the cause.
Stella’s will be serving food throughout the day. Starting at 3:30 p.m., North End Tap House will offer free pizza from Franca’s Pizza in the Village Courtyard. At 6 p.m., The Gabber Newspaper will distribute slices from Slice of Gulfport at Beach Boulevard and 25th Avenue South. The City of Gulfport has provided tables for The Gabber to set up and serve pizza.
Bottled water will also be available from the City of Gulfport. Stella’s will provide napkins and containers for the pizza. Attendees are reminded that only one slice per person will be allowed. There will be no tables or chairs available, so plan to eat standing or take your slice to go.
