Residents in mid-Michigan are heartbroken after learning that their cherished “orange cheese” will soon be unavailable. The popular item, a staple in Owosso and Corunna, is linked to the local Little Caesars stores, where it has been a favorite addition to orders of Crazy Bread.
For many locals, “orange cheese” consists of cream cheese mixed with a bit of Little Caesars’ pizza sauce. While the concept may sound simple, those in the community swear by its delicious taste.
A notice posted at the Little Caesars location last week announced that “orange cheese” will no longer be offered after October 26. A local resident shared the news on social media, prompting an outpouring of disappointment.
In response, two Change.org petitions have been launched, urging the pizza chain to allow the Owosso and Corunna locations to keep serving the popular item. These petitions have already gathered over 1,100 signatures from supporters.
Store owners have expressed their frustration, stating that the decision is beyond their control. In the notice, they mentioned that they would continue to offer “orange cheese” if possible and that they have “fought 110% over the past 12 months” to keep it on the menu.
The situation highlights the balancing act between a national brand’s desire for a uniform menu and the local demand for unique offerings. While Little Caesars aims for consistency across its franchises, the Owosso and Corunna locations have found success with “orange cheese,” making its potential removal especially painful for longtime fans.
