A pizzeria in New Orleans is making headlines with an unusual offer: free pizza for a year in exchange for Taylor Swift tickets. Zee’s Pizzeria in Uptown wants to help one of its cashiers, Leah Vaidya, attend a concert on Swift’s “Eras” tour.
Vaidya has been trying to secure tickets but has faced difficulties. “I tried to get tickets during the pre-sale, using eight different accounts, but got waitlisted on all of them,” she explained. Vaidya, a lifelong “Swiftie,” has cherished memories of her first concert. “Taylor Swift was the first concert I ever went to when I was 8 years old. I went to the ‘Fearless’ tour with my friends, and we rented a school bus to get there.”
The pizzeria’s owner, Zander White, is optimistic about their new campaign. Last year, he and his wife received two Swift tickets for a show in Houston after a customer traded them for a year of free pizza.
Local resident Jeannine Davidson learned about the latest offer through Facebook. She knew her friend, Suzie Coe, had two extra tickets for a Swift show in Houston. “I joked with her about the tickets, and she replied that I should contact Zee’s to get free pizza,” Davidson said.
Vaidya’s enthusiasm has impressed White. “Leah is a superfan, and it’s clear that Taylor is a big part of her personality,” he said.
Vaidya hopes for a chance to see Swift in concert. “I would love to go to the show in my hometown with all these other ‘Swifties’ who love Taylor so much,” she said.
If Vaidya secures the tickets, White has promised her a weekend off. “She definitely doesn’t have to work that weekend,” he said.
