A new Italian sandwich shop is set to open in downtown Vancouver. Dante Italian Sandwich will be located at 360 Robson St., according to signs displayed in the windows.
Currently, Dante does not have any social media accounts or a website. However, the city’s business license database indicates that it is owned by the same company behind the Straight Brooklyn Pizza chain and Via Tevere, both popular pizza brands in Vancouver. The company also operates another pizza venture, Don’t Argue, which runs out of their Caffe Soccavo on Commercial Drive.
This new shop will be the seventh location for the restaurant group owned by Dom and Frank Morra. Via Tevere has been a well-known spot on Victoria Drive in East Vancouver for over a decade, famous for its Neapolitan-style pizzas.
Don’t Argue is a revival of a brand that previously operated at 3240 Main St. The Morras took over the location earlier this year, reintroducing the Don’t Argue name.
While the other locations focus on pizzas, this will not be Dante’s first venture into Italian sandwiches. Via Tevere also operates the Il Saltimbocca food truck, which serves wood-fired sandwiches.
