Blaze Pizza will open its new location in the University Station shopping center tomorrow, November 5. Customers can enjoy a free 11-inch pizza, along with live music, games, and prizes. The new store is located at 301 Tormenta Way in Statesboro.
Last Saturday, Blaze Pizza hosted a preview day for family and friends to showcase the new store. Grant Watkins, the franchise owner who grew up in Statesboro, expressed his excitement about opening this location. “It feels like I’m returning home,” he said.
This store marks Watkins’ third Blaze Pizza location in Georgia. He has been with the company for eight years and also owns stores in Brunswick and Valdosta. “It’s nice being in a new development,” he added.
Blaze Pizza was founded in 2011 and has since expanded to over 340 locations nationwide. The chain is well-known for its make-your-own pizza concept, which Watkins particularly enjoys. “I love its individuality,” he stated. “Normally when you have pizza, you have to share it. Here, you can create your own personalized pizza for $12 with unlimited toppings.”
In recent months, Watkins has worked hard to promote the new location. He emphasized the importance of community involvement, especially since the store is near Georgia Southern University. “We have had advertisements at football games and are involved in local fundraisers that benefit the community,” he said.
