Zelda’s Original Gourmet Pizza, a beloved Sacramento pizzeria, is reopening after several months of closure.
The restaurant shared the news on Instagram, announcing it will reopen Thursday, November 7. However, the pizzeria will not offer in-person dining and will only accept cash payments for the time being.
“Starting Thursday 11/07, we’re back in the kitchen, ready to satisfy your deep dish cravings,” Zelda’s posted on Instagram. “For now, we’re only offering to-go orders, and cash is king for the Queen of Pizza. Apologies for the inconvenience, but we’re not accepting cards just yet.”
Known for its Chicago-style deep dish pizza, Zelda’s has been a staple in Midtown Sacramento for over 45 years.
The restaurant closed in August, shifting to takeout orders only in an effort to survive the economic strain. According to the Sacramento Business Journal, the pizzeria will now operate under new management led by Jon Stevenson and Beau Cornell.
Zelda’s is located at 1415 21st Street and will be open Thursday through Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
