Yellow Cab Pizza Co. has resumed its delivery service through the food delivery platform Foodpanda after temporarily suspending it last week due to “system issues.”
In a statement released on Sunday, November 10, the pizza chain announced that customers can now place orders through Foodpanda at selected branches. The company said it had resolved the issues and improved its processes.
“We are resuming delivery transactions through the Foodpanda app starting today. Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to improve our service,” Yellow Cab said in a Facebook post.
The chain also expressed appreciation for customer patience as it worked to address the issues.
Last Friday, November 8, Yellow Cab had suspended its service with Foodpanda, citing “repeated challenges” and “ongoing service issues” that disrupted its standards for reliability, accuracy, and quality. The company did not provide further details.
Speculation arose among some Filipinos who linked the disruption to a promotion at Yellow Cab’s SM Cubao branch, where customers received significant discounts on its 2-in-1 Bundle offering. Some suggested that the branch’s promotion may have led to an overwhelming number of orders, and that staff believed their Foodpanda account was “hacked” due to the high volume of transactions.
Foodpanda has not issued a public statement about the incident.
In addition to Foodpanda, Yellow Cab customers can also place orders via the Max’s Group delivery app, the company’s website, its hotline, and other platforms such as GrabFood and Pick.A.Roo.
