Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway announced new investments in Domino’s Pizza and Pool Corp for the third quarter, despite scaling back its holdings in companies like Apple and Bank of America.
As of September 30, Berkshire owned 1.28 million shares of Domino’s, valued at approximately $549 million. It also held 404,000 shares of Pool Corp, a distributor of swimming pool supplies, worth around $152 million.
These investments were disclosed in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing, which outlined Berkshire’s U.S.-listed investments as of the end of September.
Shares of companies in which Berkshire invests often see a rise following the disclosure, as many investors view Buffett’s involvement as a stamp of approval. The filing did not specify whether Buffett or his portfolio managers, Todd Combs and Ted Weschler, were behind the individual investments.
