A Long Island pizzeria is drawing attention with its Thanksgiving-inspired pizza, combining all the holiday favorites into one pie.
Pino’s Pizza in Deer Park has been selling hundreds of their viral Thanksgiving pizza, topped with turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and more.
The idea came about when co-owner Paul Barbieri had extra turkey left over from his market. “We had a few extra turkeys, and everyone knows leftovers are better,” he said.
The pizza features a thick grandma crust to hold the ingredients, which include cheese, cornbread stuffing, turkey gravy, sausage and apple stuffing, turkey, mozzarella, and dollops of cranberry sauce. While some have criticized the cranberry sauce topping, the pizza has become a hit, thanks in part to its popularity on TikTok.
In response to high demand, Pino’s Pizza has also introduced Thanksgiving calzones. Looking ahead, they are already working on a special creation for Christmas.
Co-owner Pino Barbieri said, “A lot of people were against it, but the more people tried it, the more it stuck. We can barely keep up with the orders.”
